It is a bit daunting re-launching our do-it-yourself blog, after our rags to bags fiasco. But you’ve heard it said before, ‘If at first you don’t succeed….’ So we’d like to give it another go. Having taken the time to sort out some of our virtual/digital clutter, we decided to bring everything we do related to our arts and crafts projects into more collective features. Trust us, we’ll need all the luck to do so.
That is why I enlisted the time and talents of my hubby and partner in crime. We have been best friends since forever. And aside from our other interest we for the most part have always been DIY-ers, if there is such a thing, even before we met. Talk about soul mates! Since we both dropped out after high school the employment options were narrowed down to what we could do with our hands. Besides, the rising costs of higher education, burgeoning expenses and an uncertain job market have many rethinking that traditional 8-5 route to success. So we took the scenic road of self-employment and went back to some of the home science and arts and crafts lessons that we sneered at in Primary school. And voila! Here we are!
I guess you can’t really be a crafter without being a DIY-er, if we may say. Mostly everything in our home is do-it-yourself. Our crib is an evolving piece of art and if it wasn’t for the frustrating lack of materials, our inspirations would be indefatigable. There’s never enough room for all our ideas so we share them with others, at a fee of course. So whether you’re searching for a new hobby or looking for the perfect gift for an artsy relative Africrafty is a place to start.
P.S- Rags to bags will return regularly as a feature along with some of our other ideas and projects.
